The Gentle Way

A Journey of Reconnection, Resilience, and Community

Hello, wonderful community!

If you are new around here welcome! And to those who have been with me from the beginning, it is so wonderful to reconnect. Lately, life and work have been insane in the absolute best way possible, and I wanted to take a moment to step back, reintroduce myself, and share a bit of the heart behind what I do.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe it has been six years since the pandemic upended the world, and even longer since I moved across the ocean. That massive leap of faith led me to switch careers from working as an ICU nurse in emergency and management to doing what I love most today: working as a personal trainer and fitness coach for active moms who need support to feel good in their new mom bodies.

I spent the last five years networking, building a community from the ground up, and planting seeds. Today, I finally have the immense honor of being a regular part of so many moms' lives. I love being that anchor in your routine, the person you look forward to taking a break with during a super-packed day. It is a privilege to hear your stories, brainstorm your challenges, and sweat it out together in classes designed specifically for your personalized needs. My coaching follows the first principle of Judo (my first love) "the gentle way." When you train with me, we approach your fitness just like that: as soft as you need, and as hard as you want.

Work Hard, Play Hard: Spring Wins

This past winter and spring, life has been running at 100 miles an hour. On top of focusing on work, which has been a lot of hours a week, highly physical, and mentally intense, it has been extremely rewarding. I am so lucky that there isn’t a single hour of my week that I don’t absolutely enjoy.

Alongside work, I also set a couple of big athletic challenges for myself to fell good. After the CrossFit Open in March, my next big goal was to complete the grueling Murph workout for Memorial Day weekend (1-mile run, 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, 300 squats, 1-mile run). I partitioned the workout into 20 rounds of 5/10/15, and I am so proud to say I finished in 49 minutes, making me the first woman at my gym to close it out! Even prouder mom moment: Leo crushed it in 36 minutes using ring rows!

The weekend before that, I also won a mini-competition at CrossFit, taking first place for the women with a brutal workout of shuttle runs, 50 unbroken wall balls, and the SkiErg. And to cap off the spring, despite basically not running since last September, I still managed to close out the Bolder Boulder 10k twice in one day. First, I ran it on my own in 48 minutes, intelligently suffering through every single step. Then, I turned right around and did the entire 10k a second time with Lily, finishing in 1 hour and 19 minutes. Watching her crush it made me so incredibly proud.

I share it because this is what brings me joy. This is how I relax, recharge, and have fun. I want it to be inspirational for you. Your version of "fun" might look totally different from mine, but the message is the same: if I can find that hour every day, despite working 40+ hours a week, raising three beautiful kids (Leo, Lily, and Luna), surviving a home renovation, and organizing a massive celebration across the world, you can do it too. And I would love nothing more than to help you figure out how to make it happen.

The Ultimate Celebration: 15 Years of Love

Speaking of that packed schedule, the absolute biggest event on the horizon and the thing I am looking forward to most is our formal wedding celebration this summer.

Ten years ago in April, Ale and I officially signed our paperwork in New York. This July 4th weekend, we are finally hosting the big party back home to celebrate 15 years together and 10 years of marriage! We are gathering 140 of the people we love most in the world for an amazing weekend filled with wine tasting, traditional Italian food, and because it wouldn't be us without it a little athletic competition for our guests! 😉

A Massive Thank You & What's Next for GfM

None of this journey would mean anything without this community. A huge thank you to all of my amazing students who have been working out with me in the garage, on Zoom, and in my backyard. I cannot wait to finally give a proper home to Giorgia fitMindset (GfM) with our brand-new gym studio!

  • 🚨 Save the Date: We will be hosting an amazing "Back to Routine" Challenge and Aperitivo Party this August (keep your eyes peeled for a Friday 8/21 or 8/28 date confirmation soon!).

My training focus for the rest of the summer will pivot to the next big athletic goals: my first full marathon at the end of September and my first Hyrox competition in November. There might even be a fun Sprint Triathlon mixed in there with some of my amazing moms!

Thank you all for being part of this wild, beautiful journey with me. Let's make this summer unforgettable!
